Adams Apple Removal
Chondrolaryngoplasty

Adam’s apple removal is relatively quick surgical procedure that often takes an hour or less. The thyroid cartilage is reduced in size by shaving down the cartilage through an incision in the throat.

It is not always possible to “remove” a large Adam’s apple with this procedure rather the intent is to smooth out the curvature to a less masculine angle.

You may already have a surgeon or you might be looking at financing options first, either way SurgeryLoans.com can help you understand your options.

Recovery

As with any medical procedure scarring can occur if the skin does not heal properly. Because of this, most surgeons will tell the patient to frequently rub the site of the incision to prevent noticeable scar tissue from forming. Side affects often experienced during the two-week recovery period often include:

  • Swelling
  • Bruising around the site of the incision
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Difficulty speaking

Recovery time is, as always, dependent on pre-existing medical conditions the patient has.
