Nose surgery, technically known as Rhinoplasty, is the most popular plastic surgery procedure in the United States. Costs

Rhinoplasty can be performed under local anesthesia, meaning your nose will be completely numb so you won’t feel anything, but you will be awake for the procedure. In some cases, general anesthesia can be administered so you will sleep during the procedure. Nose surgery takes approximately 2 hours or more. Rhinoplasty is performed as an outpatient procedure, meaning you will return home the same day.

Recovery

You will need to rest with your head elevated to reduce swelling and bruising for up to 3 days. Most patients are able to return to work or school within 1 to 2 weeks. If there is bruising, it will subside after 2 weeks. You may return to more strenuous activities after 3 or 4 weeks. It is very important to avoid activities that put your face in danger of being hit, especially ball sports like tennis, baseball or football. Wearing sunscreen on your nose is important. You will begin to see results in as little as 6 weeks, but you might not see your final results for up to 1 year.
