Procedures for Men

Nose Surgery
Rhinoplasty

Nose surgery, technically known as Rhinoplasty, is the most popular plastic surgery procedure in the United States. Both men and women have nose surgery to remove bumps, change the angle or proportions of their nose, or to correct breathing problems. Patients as young as 15 can have nose surgery; although, waiting for the rest of your facial features to fully form is important. Some patients find better results with chin implants rather than a nose reduction based on the overall proportions of their face.

SurgeryLoans.com can help you get the financing you need for nose surgery, and we can also help you find a surgeon through our physician referral service.

Costs

Rhinoplasty can be performed under local anesthesia, meaning your nose will be completely numb so you won’t feel anything, but you will be awake for the procedure. In some cases, general anesthesia can be administered so you will sleep during the procedure. Nose surgery takes approximately 2 hours or more. Rhinoplasty is performed as an outpatient procedure, meaning you will return home the same day.

Surgeon Fees

Of all plastic surgeries, nose surgery should be performed by a surgeon with many years of experience. If you need help finding a Rhinoplasty surgeon in your area, our physician referral service offers listings of qualified, board certified plastic surgeons.

Recovery

You will need to rest with your head elevated to reduce swelling and bruising for up to 3 days. Most patients are able to return to work or school within 1 to 2 weeks. If there is bruising, it will subside after 2 weeks. You may return to more strenuous activities after 3 or 4 weeks. It is very important to avoid activities that put your face in danger of being hit, especially ball sports like tennis, baseball or football. Wearing sunscreen on your nose is important. You will begin to see results in as little as 6 weeks, but you might not see your final results for up to 1 year.
