Procedures for Women

Laser Resurfacing

With advances in today’s medical technology, many surgical procedures have been replaced by laser treatments. Lasers are also being used very effectively for cosmetic procedures, especially for non-invasive, non- surgical facelifts and to repair and reduce skin damage. Laser facial resurfacing utilized a C02 (carbon dioxide) laser to reduce lines and wrinkles, age spots, sunspots, acne scars, rosacea and port wine stains, and can remove unwanted facial hair. Laser facial resurfacing significantly enhances your skin’s tone, texture and radiance.

Recovery

You may experience swelling of the treatment site. Scabbing might also occur. Depending on the depth and area being treated, you may need to wear a bandage immediately following your procedure. Most patients are able to wear makeup and return to light activities in 2 weeks. Strenuous exercise and vigorous activities can be resumed in 4 to 6 weeks. It is very important to avoid direct sun exposure for at least 6 months and possibly as long as 1 year after your procedure. Sunscreen must be worn at all times.
