Nose Surgery Rhinoplasty Nose surgery, technically known as Rhinoplasty, is the most popular plastic surgery procedure in the United States. Both men and women have nose surgery to remove bumps, change the angle or proportions of their nose, or to correct breathing problems. Patients as young as 15 can have nose surgery; although, waiting for the rest of your facial features to fully form is important. Some patients find better results with chin implants rather than a nose reduction based on the overall proportions of their face. Your surgeon will help determine your best course of action during your consultation. If there is bruising, it will subside after 2 weeks. You may return to more strenuous activities after 3 or 4 weeks. It is very important to avoid activities that put your face in danger of being hit, especially ball sports like tennis, baseball or football. Wearing sunscreen on your nose is important. You will begin to see results in as little as 6 weeks, but you might not see your final results for up to 1 year. |
